Michael Richard “Mike” Pence (born June 7, 1959) is an American politician and attorney who has served as the 50th Governor of Indiana
since 2013, and is the nominee of the Republican Party for Vice President of the United States in the 2016 election. Pence previously represented Indiana’s 2nd congressional district and Indiana’s 6th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013 and served as chairman of the House Republican Conference from 2009 to 2011. Pence is a conservative and a supporter of the Tea Party movement.
On July 15, 2016, Donald Trump announced that he had selected Pence as his vice presidential running mate in the 2016 presidential election.
